We wish to inform members of the University community that University of Nigeria Nsukka has just been subscribed to SCOPUS, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature: scientific journals, books and conference proceedings.

On the platform, you can have access to the world’s research output in the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts and humanities. It also has smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research.

All you need to do is simply sign up with your UNN email address, following these easy steps:

Enter http://www.scopus.com on your browser address bar
At the Scopus page that opens, click on “Register” at the top menu bar
Complete the small form that appears and follow the instructions.

Open Access Week, University of Nigeria Nsukka

You are invited to the first-o its-kind ‘Open Access Week’ to be held in University of Nigeria, Nsukka on 24th October, 2017. The Theme of the event is “Open in Order to Increase Visibility in Teaching and Research”. The event is being organised by a group of Open Access Advocates in UNN to mark the International Open Access Week which is a global, community-driven week of action to open up access to research. The event is celebrated by individuals, institutions and organizations across the world.

Time: 9:00am- 9:30am -Radio Call-in Programme at Lion FM

Official Launching of Books Donation by Chief Mike Olorunfemi

The Pro Chancellor of University of Nigeria Nsukka – Chief Mike Olorunfemi,  has donated 3050 books to Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. These books cut across many disciplines. On 11th July, 2017, the Pro Chancellor came with his team to officially present the books to the University and the Library in particular. In his words, he stated that the books were donated from his foundation called “Michael Olorunfemi Foundation”. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba welcomed him to the library and commended his efforts. Prof. Ozumba furthered his statement by noting that University of Nigeria is the first to get the highest number of donated books from the foundation. He added that UNN is priviledged to be the best beneficiary of Mike Olorunfemi Foundation. See more pictures below.

Official Books Donation by UNN Pro-Chancellor

Today, 11th July, 2017, the Pro Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, officially visited the library to officially donate 3050 books from his Foundation. The Pro-Chancellor was accompanied by the Vice chancellor – Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba, the Deputy Vice chancellors , Council members and other Principal Officers. The University Librarian – Professor Chinwe Nwogo Ezeani, appreciated the kind gesture of the Pro-Chancellor warmly welcomed him to the great citadel of learning resource centre.


UNN IR, Now UNNSPACE

LAUNCHING OF UNNSPACE

The Library Management wishes to invite all staff, students and researchers, to visit the newly upgraded Institutional Repository of the University, herewith referred to as UNNSPACE. The Repository has been upgraded from 3.0 to 6.04, and running on Ubuntu Linux which has also been upgraded from 12.0 to 16.04 LTS.  Right now, University of Nigeria has the latest DSpace-powered Institutional Repository in Nigeria. Thanks to the University Administration for the support in achieving this feat.

The Upgrade enables easy navigation of the repository with relevant statistics and the integration of ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID). These and many more, are obtainable in the newly upgraded UNNSPACE.

Authors are hereby encouraged to visit the UNNSPACE following these steps:

  1. Visit www.unn.edu.ng,
  2. Under LIBRARIES, navigate to Institutional Repository

   Alternatively, visit the URL: http://repository.unn.edu.ng:8080/xmlui/
