Administration    

While the University Librarian oversees the entire library, the Administration arm of the library is headed by a Deputy University Librarian (DUL) rereferred to as DUL, Admin.

NAL Administration

DUL Administration

  • General administration of the library as may be directed by the University Librarian
  • Plan, Direct, Supervise and Coordinate work activities in the library
  • Provide employee (current and prospective) with information about the library policies, working conditions and other employee benefits
  • Organize and manage staff welfare for the library
  • Coordinate and manage emerging trends in library administration
  • Maintain a quarterly statistics of services rendered from various Divisions and Sections of the library

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Coordinate and ensure the implementation of all directives within the library
  • Coordinate the production of statistics of works done in all the divisions
  • Coordinate, collate and produce monthly reports of statistics from various Divisions and Sections

Building and Grounds (B/G)

  • Supervise and oversee the maintenance of library hygiene
  • Provide administrative support to all staff within the section
  • Provide logistics (transport) for staff on night duties
  • Collate and coordinate work related administrative challenges from various Divisions and Sections
  • Supervise attendance register and reports to the DUL Administration monthly, on lateness and absenteeism

Research and Development

  • Coordinate research consultancy with the faculties and departments
  • Coordinate the preparation of library resources for course accreditation in the university
  • Supervise and organize training sessions and schedules for library
  • Analyze and design training needs of employees
  • Organize training for I.T and intern-ship programmes in conjunction with the Circulation Librarian

System Maintenance and Programmes Section (Deputy Director ICT)

  • Coordinate the development and management of application software for library IT projects
  • Ensure Installation of computer hardware and software in library IT systems
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain library computers and IT systems
  • Administers and manages systems and software passwords for the library
  • Compile a weekly statistics of services rendered in the Section
